Very close to Finca El Chantre, the ancient city of Acinipo stands as a reminder that these lands were already, in Roman times, a strategic and fertile enclave tied to agriculture. In that world, olive oil was more than just food: it was an essential part of daily life, used in cooking, lighting, the thermal baths, and body care.
In this context, oil became one of the most valuable commodities of the Roman world—produced in rural estates, stored in great vessels, and transported as a wealth intrinsically linked to the territory. Today, as you wander through this landscape, that history still beats in the relationship between the land, the harvest, and the oil, which remains one of the greatest symbols of identity in this region.

With the arrival of Al-Ándalus, Ronda—then known as Izn-Rand Onda—became a prominent enclave within the Andalusí territory. For centuries, the city and its mountains experienced an era defined by agricultural development, trade, and a profound cultural legacy that remains today in its heritage, its gastronomy, and even in many words of the Spanish language.
In this context, olive oil took on an even richer dimension. It was not only a kitchen essential but also a key element for lighting, medicine, perfumes, and daily care. The olive tree became a cornerstone of the landscape, and its oil one of the great symbols of Andalusí culture—deeply linked to the land, the water, and a more refined way of understanding life.
Today, wandering through this landscape, that heritage is still very much alive. At Finca El Chantre, our oil remains a living memory of a territory that has preserved its bond with the olive groves and everything they represent throughout time.

At Finca El Chantre, the history of olive oil is not merely the past; it is a living heritage that breathes through the landscape, the olive groves, and every experience shared from the heart of the Serranía de Ronda.
In the vicinity of ancient Acinipo, Finca El Chantre stands today as a place deeply rooted in the landscape, agricultural tradition, and the culture of olive oil. Its location, in the heart of the Ronda countryside, bestows a singular personality upon the olive groves and turns the estate into a place where nature, history, and heritage coexist in an exceptional way.
Here, amidst mountains, silence, light, and olive trees, an oil is born—one that captures the identity of this land and transforms it into an authentic experience, bound to the territory from the very first moment.
The history of El Chantre began in the 20th century, when D. Cristóbal Becerra acquired the estate and planted the olive trees that are still preserved today. Since then, the property has remained united to the family as a legacy of hard work, respect for the land, and continuity.
Today, M. Luz Becerra Aguilar keeps that path alive with dedication and a vision for the future, preserving the essence of the estate and projecting it through Oro Al-Ándalus, an EVOO born from care, memory, and a very personal way of understanding the olive grove.
Visiting Finca El Chantre means discovering how this entire historical and family heritage remains alive in the present.
